Oh My Rockness

I can't remember more excitement over a reunion since the "A Very Brady Christmas" television special aired in 1988. The Pixies' star power is bigger right now than Florence Henderson's ever was. They've been generally inducing mass hysteria, selling out all of their tour dates within minutes of going on sale.

Months before their first show at Hammerstein, I swear I walked by and saw tents full of eager fans patiently waiting for the doors to open. But then again, the FYE down the street (that's For Your Entertainment... in case you don't know, FYE's the most spectacular, incredible, amazingly-not-a-rip-off record store since Sam Goody) was holding a "Meet Maureen McCormick" promotion. Maybe I was getting the lines confused. Marsha or Black Francis? That's just too close to call...
