Oh My Rockness

California's Cold War Kids have come out of nowhere. I only heard the name for the first time a couple weeks ago, and now it seems they are everywhere. Buzz sure is a swift-moving beast. I guess they've tapped into something with their unique indie rock with a blues bent.

CWK's music, like their recent touring partners Two Gallants, has some serious soul power. Their swooning songs seek influence from the era of Dylan, Billie Holiday and the Velvet Underground. The band is set for a summer tour with the even more buzzed Tapes 'N Tapes which will further propel their explosion.

They've released 3 under-the-radar EPs, but with all the press they've been getting, it's almost assured that a proper full-length on a big label is coming soon.
