Daryl Johns is a weirdo post ___ alt popster who's slinky retro/future music is pure delight.

PURE DELIGHT, I tell you.

The Los Angeles-based (via NJ) songwriter/bassist/grown-up jazz prodigy (and member of Mac DeMarco's band) probably put out the the most pleasingly pleasant album of 2024 A.D. that doesn't stick particularly too close to any one genre...except the genre of ruling. Below are some of my favorite jams from it. But the whole album is really great. It'll keep you singing/smiling and tapping them toes, for sure.
